Invited Dr. LIU Zhengdong to Deliver LT Workshop “Language and Art: Knowledge and Skills in Describing Museum Artifacts”

On 21 November 2024, the Hong Kong Audio Description Studies Association (HKADSA) held an LT Workshop at City University of Hong Kong, co-organised under the theme “Language and Art: Knowledge and Skills in Describing Museum Artifacts (語言與藝術:博物館文物描述的知識儲備與技能培養).”

The session featured Dr. LIU Zhenghong, Director of the Institute of Palace Original Condition Research and Deputy Director of the Palace History Department at the Palace Museum. Dr. Liu is a distinguished scholar in the field of cultural heritage, with research interests spanning the history of Chinese drama, Qing dynasty court drama, and the original display practices of Ming and Qing historical sites.

During the workshop, Dr. Liu shared insights drawn from his extensive experience, including leadership roles in major exhibitions such as Dragon’s Stage: Chinese Opera Artifacts from the Palace Museum, and commemorative displays for international anniversaries. His Palace Museum contributions also include Longevity and Joy, Timeless Majesty, and The Essence of Form: Theatre Artifacts in the Qing Dynasty Court.
